April 2021 Newsletter is here!


When spring comes around it “springs,” new, growing and winter-dormant things burst forth. Yes spring has sprung and we are totally in awe with nature and what it does with every cycle of a season. May this cycle of events never change and may our work to feed a hungry world remain our calling.

The coming of springtime has always been an uplift to us and our spirits. Yes we struggled through the winter coldness the last few months but now it is like a wonder when Spring is about to start. One can smell the blooms that flourish in the spring.

The coming of spring means so much more than just "April Showers bring May Flowers. It means that once again we can breathe in life, and look outside and see that life beginning anew. Warmer temperatures mean you can spend more time outside without freezing your feet off, which is great for mental health. Across the seasons, research has found that taking walks in nature slows your heart rate and makes you more relaxed, but some research indicates that there is something special about spring's effect on your brain. A 2005 study from the University of Michigan linked spending 30 minutes or more outside in warm, sunny spring weather to higher mood and better memory. So go for it, enjoy Spring...
