For chili, I use the cheap store brand packs of chili seasoning. Brown 2 lbs ground beef with one large chopped onion and one chopped green pepper. Drain. Add 1 big can of tomatoes with juice. Add 2-3 cans of kidney beans and one small bottle low sodium v8 juice or 2 cups tomato juice. Add 2 packs of chili seasoning and simmer in low for half hour. Can add a little water if too thick.
